"World Shipping (China) Summit 2012" Held in Fujian

The World Shipping (China) Summit 2012 ("Summit"), with the theme of "Sharing an Orderly Market", is grandly held in Xiamen of Fujian, China from 19th to 20th of September. The Summit attracts more than 700 delegates from all parts of the world. Mr. Xu Zuyuan, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Transport of P. R. China; Capt. Wei Jiafu, Chairman of the Board of COSCO Group; Mr. Yu Weiguo, Secretary of Xiamen City Party Committee, deliver speeches at the grand opening. The ceremony is chaired by Mr. Ma Zehua, Director of the Board, President of COSCO Group.
With great support from Bureau of Water Transport of MOT P. R. China, the People's Government of Fujian Province, the Municipal People's Government of Xiamen and the Organizing Committee Office of China's Navigation Day, the Summit is jointly organized by COSCO, Maritime China, Drewry and Journal of Commerce. BIMCO, CSA, the Baltic Exchange, INTERCARGO, INTERTANKO and ICS are acting as the honorary organizers. The Municipal People's Government of Xiamen and Xiamen Ocean Shipping Company work as the assistant organizers.

The Summit receives an overwhelming response in shipping and related industries. China Shipping (Group) Company, China Merchants Group, China Merchants Bank and HSBC act as the special sponsors. China Ocean Shipping News is the cooperation media. The other nearly 20 sponsors include Germanischer Lloyd SE,KPMG, Lloyd's Register, Yang Ming Marine Transport, Port of Antwerp,ABS, E. R.
